Altar Cloth Triple Moon, Pentacle and Triquetra

The pentacle symbol is viewed as a sign of love, life, light, unity, enlightenment, and a quest for divine knowledge. Depending on culture, on time in history, the five points of the star can represent: 

• the five senses
• the five elements
• five planets - Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn

The Triple Moon represents the Goddess. It shows the three phases of the moon: waxing, full, and waning portrayed by two opposite crescents and a circle in between. Although its evident symbolism as moon phases, there lies a deeper meaning beneath the triple moon symbol.

The energy that the triple moon symbol projects are of the divine feminine, the goddess. It is often associated with intuition, empathy, and nurturing abilities. The triple moon also represents the three phases of a woman’s life through the maiden, the mother, and the crone. 

The Triquetra, also known as the Trinity Knot, represents the Maiden, Mother, and Crone. The symbol also applies to the Godhead. The Triquetra can represent the Father, Son, and Sage. The triquetra represents the connection between the mind, body, and soul. It also signifies the sky, earth, and ocean waters.

It also represents the cyclicity of fire, a shield against negative energies, and, given its particular shape, it is very useful for meditating.
